We thought we would finally post some of our great camping adventures this summer! Our most recent and longest trip was the Grandaddy basin where we packed in for 3 nights and 4 days. It was a 16 mile loop at 10,000 ft., with 15 different lakes it was amazing! We were only able to make it to six of the lakes but each one was beautiful. Our first day we hiked in 5 miles and camped at a small lake called Mohawk.

This is Grandaddy Lake the largest of all the lakes.

We didn't get pictures at our first camp but this was our sencond campsite, Pine Island Lake. Personaly it was my favorite spot of our trip, although we had some major thunderstorms here.

On day three we camped at Betsey Lake atop a little hill.

This is a short video of some thunder while we were waiting for the rain to stop. Being at these high altitudes we heard the loudest thunder we have ever heard.

Waiting out the rain:(

On our hike out we decided to stop and take a group picture. We had a blast on the trip and we ate really good. If you ever go backpacking try out Mountain House's freeze dried dinners, especially the beef stroganof, it was Falycia's favorite.

Our first trip we went up Y mountain and beyond, into a quiet little meadow. The hike was hard! We will say it kicked all our butts, but getting to the meadow at the end was worth it. We just stayed one night here.

The lovely meadow!

WooHooo!

After 1 year of classes and 2 ½ moths of intense studying Kirk took the DAT Friday! We were both so nervous! Somehow we were blessed though to be able to sleep the night before. I dropped him off just before 8am and came back around 12. I was pacing the parking lot waiting for him. When he finally came out, I ran to him and was like how did you do? He nodded twice and was like 21! 21! And I screamed! We were so excited! We got in the care and rolled up the windows and both just yelled in excitement! Man what a relief! We are just so thrilled!
Since we decided to pursue dental school Kirk has worked so hard in all of his classes and in studying for the DAT, I know it has been stressful and hard at times for him but he has always kept working hard and stayed positive. I am so grateful for him and all his dedication. Way to go babe! We are so excited for what the future brings and that this first little step in reaching our dream is done.

Here are his scores....

It was Kirk’s Birthday! The 21st of June, it fell on fathers day so we ended up going out to Kevin and Charisa’s house to celebrate. This years theme for the cake was a tooth! It was fun to make and even more fun to show Kirk, he liked it.

Watch out he's going to blow!
We made his special birthday dinner another night, we tired to go Red Lobster style with coconut shrimp and crab legs! umm it was good.

Yummy Snickers!!
I found a recipe online on how to make your own snickers bar! I was so excited so we just had to try it. We did it with Jason and Katie and it was quite a success I would say, it didn’t quite taste exactly like a snickers bar but it was close and really good.
Kirk pealing the peanuts, isn't he cute!

We did have one tiny little misshap..we tried to melt the chocolate over the stove and it didn’t turn out so well, as you can see. So the boys had to make a quick dash to the store. The second time we used the microwave, got to love the microwave!
The Final Product!

A couple weekends ago I got to go to Idaho Falls and visit little Evie and Krista it was a lot of fun to see them. Evie is growing to fast! I can’t believe she is 6 months already!

What a doll!

I took pictures of our garden so I could post them on our blog the first set is a little while after we planted. The second set is today when I am finally getting around to posting them!
Then..

Now...

Well it has been a while since our last posting, so I thought I better get on and update. Kirk finished up his winter semester and has begun his long hard hours of studying for the DAT! Time has gone by so fast for us here, we still can't believe the big test is only 1 month away!! But we are excited to get it over with. We have been here in Utah for a year now and still are enjoying it. Kirk and I just celebrated two years being married in April! Wohoo! We are still enjoying that also:)

This Memorial Day weekend was a lot of fun, we headed up to Paul to visit the fam! We went fishing, relaxed & ate lots of food. It was great!
This is our day on the lake

We only cought one fish on our first loop just about 10 min. in. It was on Kirk's pole, but he was putting on sunscreen right when the fish bit so I got to reel it in. Sadly, it was our only fish of the day.

Grandpa & Grandma even joined us for a little bit

After that it got pretty chilly

What a Cutie

Last weekend I had the chance to go to Idaho and visit my best friend Krista and her brand new angel baby Evelyn. It was so much fun! We have been apart way too long, it was so good to see her and laugh just like old times. I couldn't put the baby down the whole time and am already missing her. Thanks for letting me stay and for all the fun! Love you girlies!

What a cute little family!

Date Night

Well for those of you who don’t know I am now finally working again! I got offered the job with the dentist I did my internship with Dr. Noot. I am only part time right now, until the girl I am replacing has her baby, hopefully she will come early!! Actually the truth is I am really scared for her to leave I still feel like I am learning new things each day. The doctor was a challenge at first but I think now we are both getting used to each other and it truly has been a lot of fun for me. Thank you to all of those who helped me along the way, I could not have had this opportunity with out you! Kirk has had the chance to come and do some of his shadowing hours at my office, he comes every Thursday now for about 3 hrs. It is so fun to have him there and it makes us both so excited to have our own office and be able to work together someday. He has started his new semester of classes and is doing great so far. The DAT is getting closer and each day is getting a little more nerve racking. But we are excited!
These days mine and Kirk’s schedules have been opposite, the days I have off he works so date nights…well haven’t been. This week though my sweet love decided to take off Friday night and plan a date! He made me dinner…shrimp pasta and yummy stuff dinner! We did the date with Jason and Katie so the boys made us dinner while we played with our hair. They even did all the dishes too! It was great!

Christmas Morning

Ok so I am a little late at getting my Christmas pictures up! This year we spent Christmas in Paul, Id with Kirk's family, it was a lot of fun! It was so nice to have a break from school and work. Even nicer to spend time with family! We were in Paul for about six days and then came home to family here in Utah. Bethany got to come down to Utah for Christmas as well as Emily and Ryan for the New Year. So we were able to have a big fun New Years Eve. It was a great break for us, made it hard to go back! Well here are some fun Christmas morning pictures!
